Besides rapid HIV testing which will deliver the result within 20 minutes, we also offer other tests for sexually transmitted infections.

If you think it is necessary, you may consult with one of our staff members and get tested for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea. A week later you can call us for the results.

HIV laboratory testing should be done not earlier than 6 weeks after the risk situation while a rapid HIV test can be done after 12 weeks.

You will get a confidential consultation and we will provide you with detailed information on sexual health. Here you also can get tested for HIV and other sexually-transmitted infections. Checkpoint Freiburg only offers consultation by appointment at the following times:

Everything you need to know about vaccination against MPX (monkeypox)

The vaccine is currently approved for men* who have sex with men* (MSM*) and reside in Germany. Since MPX is transmitted sexually in the vast majority of cases, vaccination is especially recommended for men* who have multiple sex partners. HIV specialized practices usually offer the vaccination.

If you have questions about MPX, protection, and vaccination options, or other sexual health topics, call us at 0761/151 4664 44 or email . team@checkpoint-freiburg.de

You can find more information about MPX (monkeypox) here: https://www.aidshilfe.de/Monkeypox

we have updated our action plan and procedures to reduce the propagation speed of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and to protect our staff and patients from infection.

  • This is why our centre currently offers consultation by appointment only. Please call us or send us an email to arrange for an appointment.
  • Also, please be prepared that you may have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for an appointment. We are experiencing a high demand for appointments.
  • You may also opt for telephone counselling to talk about potential risks and evaluate the urgency with which you need testing.
  • We close the entrance doors as soon as all seats in the waiting area are taken, so as to reduce the number of persons in our waiting area. Please do not arrive early or late for your appointment; this helps the entire process to run as smoothly as possible.
  • Also, please come on your own and only bring along another person if that other person also has an appointment.
  • The use of FFP2 face masks (or equivalent) is mandatory at our centre. Using surgical face masks is no longer sufficient.
  • At the moment, we do not shake hands to say hello.
  • We would also like to remind you of the coughing or sneezing etiquette and of the necessity to wash your hands frequently.
  • Our offer does not include testing for coronavirus!!!!

Thank you for your cooperation and stay healthy!
