Our target groups are people who are sexually active and who wish to get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. In particular, you should get tested often if any of the following is true for you: If you are a man engaging in sexual contact with men, if you are from a high-risk area, if you are a sex worker or if you frequently change sexual partners. In all these cases, our centre is the perfect place for you to turn to.
Both getting advice and getting tested are done on an anonymous basis. All our staff members are bound by secrecy. Consulting with us can help you find out whether or not you have been exposed to any risk of contracting HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. If you test positive, you can be treated at the surgery directly associated with our centre. The treatment is done through your health insurance provider.
In other words, you don’t have to take the long way and make an appointment with another doctor which could be awkward and could even mean that you have to wait for a long time to obtain an appointment. In addition, we can also arrange for you to be vaccinated.

Checkpoint Plus Freiburg is run by Checkpoint Aidshilfe Freiburg e.V. in cooperation with the specialist surgery for infectious diseases “Infektionsmedizin Freiburg” and the department of infectious diseases of Freiburg university hospital.
